Sports Briefs: MLS Cup 2012 Media Day

(The Gab Four didn't attend Media Day at MLS Cup 2012, mainly because there was no Media Day. But had there been, here is what they would have asked members of the Los Angeles Galaxy and Houston Dynamo, sponsored by 3 Spoons Yogurt)

Joe: I would like to ask David Beckham if he bought a Powerball ticket for the Nov. 28 drawing.

Chris: I would like to ask Marcelo Sarvas, David Junior Lopes and Luiz Camargo if being a Brazilian with multiple names caused them to be ostracized and deported to the United States to play soccer.

Brad: I would like to ask Houston's Brad Davis if he feels his team is ready to beat the Galaxy. Does he feel the hype of Beckham leaving will have any affect on his team’s morale going up against the Galaxy?

Ralphie: I would like to ask Landon Donovan if he’s glad that David Beckham quit or not.

Joe: I would like to ask Bruce Arena if he already knows who is coming back and who's gonna "bend it.”

Chris: I would like to ask Brian Ching if he has any transformational abilities, and if he is distantly related to any of Jacob Black’s family from “Twilight.”

Brad: I would like to ask Galaxy head coach and general manager Bruce Arena does he think the partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs will boost youth interest in MLS soccer as well as other sports. Does he feel having the team do “good deeds” and be involved in the community has a positive impact on their on-field performance?

Ralphie: I would like to ask the players of the Houston Dynamo how they like their new stadium.

Joe: I would like to ask Oscar De La Hoya how many games he went to this year.

Chris: I would like to ask Irishman Robbie Keane if he has ever seen an actual leprechaun, not counting teammate Dan Keat.

Brad: I would like to ask Marcelo Sarvas is it tiring preparing for another championship game. Is he running on an adrenaline rush, since this is his third big game this year? Does he do anything special to prepare for a championship game that he doesn't do for a regular season game?

Ralphie: I would like to ask Robbie Keane how he feels about making most of the goals but not really getting credit for being the star.

Joe: I would like to ask Tally Hall if he thinks Beckham really cares if Hall plays next year.

Chris: I would like to ask David Beckham if he thinks Burger King’s strawberry banana smoothies, made fresh every time with real fruit, are as good in Australia, China, England or France as they are in Los Angeles.

Brad: I would like to ask head coach Dominic Kinnear if he is confident that having two weeks to prepare for the championship will be a benefit the players. Also, does he think the decision to take an extra day to practice before heading to LA will put the players in a game-ready mindset more than flying out earlier and practicing there?

Ralphie: I would like to ask Houston’s Coach Kinnear which of his players he thinks has improved the most over the last two years.

Joe: I would like to ask Dynamo Diesel what made his hair turn orange.

Chris: I would like to ask Calen Carr if he would switch headgear, rather than jerseys, with Petr Cech, should their teams ever play each other, and if he has ever considered pilfering the Heisman Trophy’s helmet.

Brad: I would like to ask Corey Ashe if he is confident in his ability to play backfield against the strength of the Galaxy?

Ralphie: I would like to ask Corey Ashe how he feels about Coach Kinnear.

Joe: I would like to ask Beckham if he's done playing soccer and why he's really leaving the team.

Chris: I would like to ask Landon Donovan if his hints that he may retire are any indication that he is considering playing minor league baseball.

Brad: I would like to ask David Beckham if he thinks he is going to regret leaving the MLS. Does he plan on playing in Australia or is going to go in a whole new direction? Has he considered coaching in any capacity?

Ralphie: I would like to ask David Beckham how it felt to leave the soccer field that last time.
