Sports Briefs: MLS Cup 2013 Media Day

(The Gab Four didn't attend Media Day at MLS Cup 2013, mainly because there was no Media Day. But had there been, here is what they would have asked members of Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake, sponsored by 3 Spoons Yogurt)

Joe: I would like to ask whomever how in the world they came up with these team names and who came up with them.

Chris: I would like to ask Kyle Beckerman what he considers harder to untangle: his hair or a strand of Christmas lights.

Brad: I would like to ask Kyle Beckerman what his first choice dress code colors are.

Ralphie: I would like to ask who came up with the name Sporting Kansas City. It's kind of a weird name. It sounds more like a racehorse than a sports team.

Joe: I would like to ask if Real Salt Lake has not scored in KC in two years. Right? Will they this year?

Chris: I would like to ask Jimmy Nielsen if he has ever researched getting a hair transplant for where his eyebrows would normally be located.

Brad: I would like to ask Nick Rimando if feels his and Beckerman's friendship ever hinders game play or if it always benefits it.

Ralphie: I would like to ask Jimmy Nielsen if he ever gets scared when the ball is headed toward his goal.

Joe: I would like to ask goalkeeper Jim Neilson if he wins it all this year, will he retire?

Chris: I would like to ask Graham Zusi where he purchases his headbands, if said store has a section for both male and female headbands and if he wears his headband while out to eat, running errands and at home.

Brad: I would like to ask Peter Vermes if Sporting Kansas City has an upper hand playing at home.

Ralphie: I would like to ask Graham Zusi if he always dreamed of being a soccer player.

Joe: I would like to ask ESPN, since the game is the same time as the SEC championship game, will this impact the TV audience very much?

Chris: I would like to ask Joao Plata if he has nutmegged himself under an opponent, and if his opponent even had to jump to allow Plata to run under his legs.

Brad: I would like to ask SKC if they feel any extra pressure being the first major professional team to host a championship since ‘85.

Ralphie: I would like to ask the players of Real Salt Lake if being the underdogs will make them play harder.

Joe: I would like to ask Kansas City how are the field conditions going to affect the game and who will it favor?

Chris: I would like to ask Teal Bunbury if teal is his favorite color, if he wears teal very often and if he has ever covered his home in teal wallpaper.

Brad: I would like to ask Jason Kreis if a championship win will play any part in his decision to stay or leave RSL.

Ralphie: I would like to ask Jason Kreis if he plans to return next season.

Joe: I would like to ask Kansas City is this club better than the 2000 championship club?

Chris: I would like to ask Real Salt Lake’s ticket sales team if any members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir are also members of any of the team’s singing supporters’ sections.

Brad: I would like to ask Devon Sandoval if he is ready to start or if his injury will bench him for the championship.

Ralphie: I would like to ask Nick Rimando, Kyle Beckerman, and Javier Morales how they felt about being shut out of the MLS Best XI.
