Power Rankings: Famous Apes

King Kong
Made famous by Denzel Washington's quote from the movie “Training Day,” "King Kong ain't got nothing on me."
Donkey Kong
The main character of one of the greatest video games of all time.
Leader of the ape revolution, Caesar was very smart and beloved by his fellow apes.
Curious George
Curious George loves adventures and goes on many of them with “The Man with The Yellow Hat.”
The Gorilla
One of my favorite mascots from the NBA. I have memories of him and Charles Barkley hyping the Suns’ crowd.
Grape Ape
Grape Ape was just a little before my time, but I do remember watching reruns of it when I was extremely young, in between GI Joe and Smurf episodes.
Blip was a character on “Space Ghost” I never really pulled for, I guess because who could be better than Space Ghost himself, for real!
Rally Monkey
The “Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim” have no official mascot, making the Rally Monkey guilty of masquerading and copyright infringement. And considering the “Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim” have not won a World Series since 2002, the Rally Monkey has clearly not been effective for over a decade, unless his efforts have been solely focused on lengthening the size of the club’s name.
Magilla Gorilla
Fictional character made by the creators of “The Flintstones.” Popular TV show in the ‘60s.
Fatz Geronimo
I used to love me some Fatz Geronimo, because Showbiz Pizza was the only kid-friendly place in town when I was growing up, and so we all loved going there.
