Five MLB Bleacher Creatures Dolls

(By Christopher Wilson)

Being caught flat-footed is not often a good thing. But when it comes to plush toys, either flat-footed or able to sit up is a prerequisite for purchasing. No one wants to buy a plush toy for display, only to find it can't support itself.

Since 2011, Bleacher Creatures has been producing plush toys of professional athletes, mascots, superheroes, politicians and more. And they are able to stand up on their own! I'm hoping with improvements in technology, they will be able to walk and talk within five years. Until then, here are five MLB Bleacher Creature dolls who all won trophies in 2015.

Houston Astros' ace Dallas Keuchel won the American League Cy Young Award last season, and his beard is the longest ever made by Bleacher Creatures. Good luck getting a brush through it, though an official Astros comb would have been a nice accessory. Keuchel is wearing the Astros alternate orange jersey, though if Keuchel continues to refrain from shaving, his beard length may soon overtake his jersey.

The reigning American League MVP is Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays, who is wearing the Jays alternate blue jersey. And his Bleacher Creature looks just like him, down to the trim and incomplete beard.

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta won the National League Cy Young Award, and it seems having substantial facial hair is a must for winning an award. Arrieta is featured in the Cubs home white uniform.

The National League's MVP is the bearded Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals, who is wearing their home white uniform. The only drawback to the baseball player dolls are their hats are not removable, thus preventing buyers from seeing how much hair gel Harper is using.

Finally, the reigning World Series champion Kansas City Royals mascot Sluggerrr is represented in plush form in the Royals home white uniform. And just like the actual mascot, fans cannot tell where Sluggerrr's forehead ends and his crown begins.

All of these Bleacher Creatures are around 10 inches tall and are available online for $19.99 retail price.
